Gabi and Nick met briefly in Gabi’s hometown of Cape Town, South Africa where Nick was enjoying a holiday with friends. They then reconnected whilst travelling in Mykonos, Greece and later began dating back in Sydney where Gabi had previously migrated … and the rest is history!
As part of their Jewish tradition, the couple spent the week before the wedding apart, which made the Big Day that extra bit more special. Gabi stunned in a simply elegant and breath-taking Oscar De La Renta gown with her bridesmaids complementing her perfectly in stylish black outfits. The day began with a spiritual and emotional ceremony at The Mint, an area with expansive lawns surrounded by traditional sandstone buildings, where the couple officially tied the knot under their Chuppah, which was decorated beautifully with cascading florals and greenery. The wedding reception was transformed into a magical, enchanted forest with lush flowers adorning the space. The colour theme was predominately white and green, with pops of deep, dusty, romantic colours. The final result was a romantic, stylish yet sophisticated atmosphere that left the guests in awe.
A sentimental touch to the special day was Nick arranging to fly in South African singer, Khanyo, to surprise Gabi, knowing how important South Africa is to her and wanting to honour this by bringing an element of her hometown into the wedding. “I remember looking around the room and everyone was just gathering around her – it was an amazing moment. Once she had finished that song she encouraged everyone to follow her to the dance floor for a few more traditional South Africa songs, it was a phenomenal moment, everyone was in total shock. The guests absolutely loved it and it was a major highlight of the wedding,” Gabi told Wedded Wonderland.
Following this special moment, the celebrations continued with the couple dancing and laughing the entire night away with all their guests. Reflecting on their special day, the couple told Wedded Wonderland, ” The room was filled with so much love and happiness it was beautiful. Our wedding was the most spectacular day and night of our lives.”
